The Media Straight Up! Curriculum

Drug Free Pennsylvania in collaboration with renowned media literacy expert, Dr. Renee Hobbs of Temple University, has created an exciting middle school media literacy curriculum entitled The Media Straight Up! Critical Thinking Skills for Pennsylvania’s Youth. This curriculum is designed to help kids make more informed decisions, such as avoiding risky drug and alcohol-related behaviors.

In addition, the lesson plans and exercises are designed to meet a number of Pennsylvania Academic standards for middle school aged students such as Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening; Health, Safety and Physical Education; Arts and Humanities; Civics and Government and even Mathematics.
